The powder lends the hair a dark to black tint. It blends well with henna powder to achieve a light, medium or dark brown shade - depending on the amount of indigo powder used. Indigo is often used in combination with other herbal hair dyes to increase the colour intensity.

When used on its own it covers grey hair naturally. Indigo powder, with its antiseptic properties, supports the health of the scalp and hair.
