Description
Cold pressed from community traded Kalahari watermelon seeds, this oil is extracted by pounding the seeds by hand in wooden bowls. It is a light oil & rapidly absorbed by the skin. Its neutrality makes it a perfect oil to blend for body or facial oils being effective on greasy skin types. This oil is good for balancing oily skin, while being restorative & nourishing in action. Its lightness makes it lovely to use as a bath, baby or massage oil base. Watermelon oil is a natural moisturiser & particularly helpful for oily skin conditions.

What is Community Trade? The african oils from Akamuti are produced through a community trade programme, which focuses on co-operatives & womens associations producing goods that prove viable to benefit their community. These small co-operatives operate in very dry, rural parts of Africa, where there are often no other way of making a living.This special oil is coldpressed from the seeds of the watermelon & community traded with African villagers to provide them with a sustainable income.

This oil makes my skin very soft, has no scent, and absorbs very quickly (provided you do not use too much of it). I even apply it on my lower lids, and it does not irritate my eyes whatsoever, which is a big bonus as you do not really need a separate product for this delicate area. I am just not sure if it is this product or my food preferences that give me occasional breakouts (including blackheads).
