Elegant but doesn't drain well

This soap dish was put to the test on my sink. Since it is a large porcelain sink I can't really find a happy medium for soap dishes. I had a plastic one that didn't drain at all, but I wanted something nicer and less kitsch. I love the design and color of this dish, but I find that water collects under it and discolors the wood. I think I will have to find another way to set it up.
