Nutmeg

Nutmeg from the family Myristicaceae is native mainly to Borneo, Brazil, China, India and Sri Lanka. The oil is extracted from its seeds and promotes blood circulation, is stimulating, antioxidant and antiseptic. It is well suited for personal care products for the prevention of muscle pain and rheumatic complaints.
In aromatherapy, nutmeg oil is highly stimulating, enhances concentration, is tonic and dream-promoting. It helps with lack of energy, fatigue and lethargy. However, since it can lead to heart palpitations, nausea and intoxication in large quantities, it should be used sparingly. For pregnant women, children and epileptics it is not suitable.
