Colouring the hair with Henna is one of the oldest methods of the colouring there is. Compared to conventional colouring treatments, the use of Henna is safer and less harmful. The Henna by Tea Natura originates from Indian Fair Trade projects, such as Naturveda Biotech from Pondicherry, a long-standing business partner of TEA.
Henna only colours the hair in a natural way, strengthening and thickening it, while providing more volume. Regular use of Henna regenerates and strengthens the scalp. Hair becomes stronger and shinier, while flakiness is reduced. In Arabian countries, the use of Henna is often part of everyday life, to express self respect, as well as benefitting from its antiseptic and disinfectant properties.
Many of the commercial Henna products contain an additive called sodium picramates, a synthetic bonding agent, that accelerates the use of Henna, making it more effective.. The products produced by TEA, however do not contain this harmful ingredient.
Application: Depending on the length of your hair, blend approx. 4 tbsp of the Henna powder with warm water and mix until a creamy paste is formed. To increase the longevity of the Henna, a small amount of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice may be added to the paste. Apply to damp hair and cover the hair with a shower cap.
After approx. an hour the first red refelexions are visible. For more colour intensity, let the Henna sit for two to three hours.
Brown hair will receive a copper colouring with brown shading. Grey hair will be covered. An intensive red shade will be given to blonde hair.
In order for the hair colour to have longevity, cleanse hair with two parts Ghassoul clay mixed with two tbsp of red Henna.
