Surfactants
Surfactants such as emulsifiers are surface-active substances. They simultaneously bind to fat and water and have a primarily a cleansing effect. Depending on the charge of their molecules, surfactants can also have anti-static effects in hair care products, as they are foam-stabilizing and mitigate irritation.
