Is There Anything We Can Do About Wrinkles?

Wrinkles are inevitable, they can't be prevented. The question is, "when will you get wrinkles and how many will you get?" There are lots of factors that can influence this.

Good news first: You can delay or even partially prevent the appearance of wrinkles. You just have to be active in prevention!

The Face Changes with Age

The older you get, the more changes you'll see in your face. Everyone experiences changes in one way or another. When we meet someone we have not seen for years, the differences appear more visible. Sometimes they are even striking.

These changes occur over time, because the muscle mass in our faces decreases. Gravity is merciless with the change and pulls on our mouths or jaw line. Unfortunately the strain on our faces is what causes wrinkles to develop.

What can we actually do?

  • Train! It's interesting- training your body keeps it looking good, and the same is true for the face. Regular exercise keeps the face young and helps fight wrinkles.
  • Massages: After training, a massage would be perfect! In our modern world we even have special massage brushes that stimulate the lymph flow and get rid of extra puffiness.
  • Peels: Used regularly, peels help the skin renew itself as old, dead skin cells are gently removed. Warming enzyme peels also do the skin good.
  • Special Care: Of course, creams and oils have their place. Pick a care product that suits your skin type.
  • Smile: When we laugh, it counteracts the effects of gravity on the cheeks. Keeping a smile on your face is a great way to prevent wrinkles!
  • Grimaces: The effect is similar to the smile, only more varied. By activating the muscles in our face, they remain taut. So pucker so your mouth, sniff, blow out your cheeks, etc. We just recommend not practicing on the bus ;)
  • Sun protection: We've saved the most important tip for last!  Protect your skin from the sun! UVA radiation is the main cause of premature skin aging. The ultraviolet light reduces the thickness of the top layer of skin and makes the skin age faster. In addition, protect yourself from UVB radiation. UVB radiation is responsible for sunburns and skin cancer!
Today it is believed that UVA radiation may be responsible for up to 80% of skin aging! It penetrates very deeply into the skin and over time, breaks down the connective tissue fibers that keep your skin firm.
Do not underestimate the sun and protect yourself! Avoid going tanning too often!

And remember, don't forget to smile!
