DIY Reed Diffuser

The most challenging part of making your own diffuser is the fragrance selection. The fragrance blend is made from a light carrier oil that is mixed with one or more essential oils to lend your space with a unique, natural scent. This need not be the case. One can enjoy positive-feeling fragrances by creating a handmade diffuser - free from harmful by-products or artificial substances.

  1. First, pour the essential oil into the glass container.
  2. Add 20 drops of essential oil for every ¼ cup of carrier oil.
  3. Dip the sticks in the oil to carefully mix the oils.
  4. Leave the sticks in the oil blend for about 2 hours before turning them upside down to release the oils absorbed by the ends of the sticks that were dipped into the oil blend.
  5. Whenever the ends of the sticks that are exposed to the air seem dry or you notice the scent dwindling, simply turn them once more. This way the fragrance of the freshly absorbed oils will disperse into the interior of the space.
